THE GIG
The Pricing and Planning Director will play a critical role in the design, development, planning and execution of our comprehensive product and services pricing strategy. The Director is responsible for creating pricing tactics and customer growth strategies that align with the company goals, optimize profitability and deliver anticipated revenue activity. The Director will lead extensive financial modeling and data analysis efforts in order to develop comprehensive pricing strategies that provides optimal balance between customer growth and long term profitability.
THE KEY BITS
§ Review and approve all Fuse Media On-Air and Digital proposals
§ Provide weekly Sales Pacing & Projection reports
§ Strategically determine most effective utilization of National inventory
§ Establish and maintain pricing and sellout guidelines for Direct Response Sales
§ Assist in construction of Budget/Forecast models
§ Collaborate with Sales Management on Upfront strategy and development of the Ratecard
§ Oversee network liability process and provide financial assessment of ratings fluctuation
§ Manage Ad-hoc reporting for senior management
§ Create Fuse/FM program valuations for Festivals, tent pole events and special programming
§ Manage Sales Planners and Inventory Manager
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
• Strong understanding of pricing a variety of inventory, within the NY market (National Broadcast/Cable network)
• In depth knowledge of media marketplace
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis
• Knowledge of inventory and ad sales reporting systems
• Strong analytical skills and experience with financial reports and presentations
• Understanding of traffic, inventory yield management
• Strong Media Math Skills
• Strong technical computer skills –Expert user of Excel
• 10 years working in an ad sales management position at a broadcast or cable outlet
• Demonstrated ability to use information as a tool to exploit new revenue opportunities
• 5 years in a pricing and planning function in broadcast or cable television
• Has experience in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Successful management of sales budgets in a complex multi-product business
• History of delivering projects on time with high level of accuracy under strict deadlines
