Job Description-As Director, Distribution, International you will be part of a small team responsible for maximizing revenue across Canada (English and French language) for all Fremantle International proprietary programs towards the achievements of targets.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute innovative and creative sales strategies to ensure that each title generates and exceeds its targeting level of revenue
• Negotiate contractual terms and conditions, retaining as many rights as possible for further exploitation, while striving to increase license fees in both finished tape and formats
• Proactively explore and exploit new opportunities for growth, both with existing customers and new targets, from major broadcasters to smaller companies and across new media platforms
• Create market analyses; prepare sales forecasts, producer sales reports and sales presentations tailored to meet specific targets
• Work with internal departments such as Marketing, Finance, Programming, Material Ops and Legal to progress deals to completion
• Establish and maintain positive client relationships
• Liaise closely with production companies, both internal and external, regarding trends, content and potential content/titles for acquisition
• Proactively manage multiple properties and projects both within formats and finished tape
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• University degree educated preferred
• Proven and demonstrable experience of Sales experience within the TV licensing environment, either working within broadcast or wider entertainment industry/competitor
• Must have target driven sales skills around negotiating and closing deals in Canada
• Local market knowledge and contacts are essential
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams and has strong MS Office skills
• Understanding of media and emerging platforms
• Ability to work under pressure, within deadlines and in a small group environment
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrated passion for working in the entertainment field
• Possess strong writing, editing skills and presentation skills
• French language preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
• Ability to clearly communicate with supervisor and colleagues; be highly self-motivated and have a strong work ethic
