Full Time Job
Framework Studio is looking to hire a Writer with previous writing experience in either television, film, or advertising for the Creative Department. The ideal candidate can write for a diverse range of different voices and audiences.
At Framework we are storytellers and strategists, artists and fine-tuners, expert technicians and passionate directors. We're always looking around to draw fresh connections between culture, entertainment, and brands in ways that feel personal and immediate. From the moment our writers flip open their laptops to the final late-night, post-production tweaks, we thrive on that indefinable buzz that gives us pride in our work. At the end of the day, we're not just professionals, but true fans of awesome content.
The Creative Department is tasked with ideating fresh concepts for film and TV marketing campaigns. On the daily, you may be asked to come up with ideas for a new integration a client is planning to do for their marquee biopic. Or you might be asked to write a script for two of the biggest actors in the industry, in which they'll banter over their favorite coffee flavors. Every day is different at Framework, but each task demands creativity, strategy and a good attitude. Please take a look at our website to get a better idea of the kinds of things you'd be writing here at Framework!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients over video calls, phone calls, and emails.
- Turn work around in a timely manner (often on tight deadlines) and be able to self-manage workload.
- Oversee scriptbook management and perform administrative tasks when absolutely necessary.
- Ideate topline concepts-including fan-oriented Q&A and game-like ideas-for movie marketing campaigns (several per project), with a strong emphasis on integrations and brand partnerships.
- Types of content:
- Fun promo scripts for film studio/streaming service clients, from simple to-camera greetings, to SNL-type sketches, to more complex, stylized custom shoots.
- Detailed treatments based on one-paragraph topline ideas and client notes.
- Scripts at a variety of length: as short as 0:15 or as long as 3:00.
- Humor and drama, depending on client needs.
- Specific work for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram as well as content for broadcast and traditional outlets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA in writing, journalism, film, or other degree in a similar field.
- Previous writing experience (with samples) in either TV, film or advertising.
- A sharp sense of humor and ability to change voices quickly. A background in comedy is a bonus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- An interest in film and TV with a breadth of knowledge in the industry. Specifically: interests in sports, and/or a passion for DC and Marvel is ideal but not required.
- Fluency in pop culture and social media trends is also ideal.
- A generally enjoyable human to be around!
