Job description
FoxNext Games is looking for a Senior Sound Designer to join our in-house audio team in our stunning new studio in Playa Vista. We're looking for a talented and proficient sound designer, with a particular aptitude for audio implementation.
The Sound Designer will be responsible for the creation and implementation of audio content for internally developed mobile games at FoxNext. The team is currently working on games based on the Marvel universe and James Cameron's Avatar. The ideal candidate will have a passion for video games and be dedicated to enhancing the player's experience through sound. You will work closely with the Audio Director and Design team to create compelling soundscapes.
This is a permanent position based in Playa Vista, California, and requires working onsite.
Your Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Audio Director and the Design team to help define the game's audio aesthetic and create a meaningful player experience
• Design original, innovative and emotionally compelling sounds, and manage their implementation into the game engine / middleware.
• Mix and manage dialogue assets
• Keep sound design documentation up-to-date for programmers, producers and designers
• Create and mix audio content for trailers, cutscenes, demos and conferences to commercial standards when required
• Communicate regularly with the audio and game design teams to ensure their intent for audio is realized and that the overall creative vision for the project is maintained
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure that audio processes and tools are efficient and optimized
• Evangelize high standards for game audio and educate the rest of the development team when necessary
• Test all aspects of your game audio in our in-house engine to ensure in-game playback is as intended and fit for commercial release

Requirements
• 5 years' experience in video game development with multiple titles shipped.
• Experience working in DAW workstations, such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Nuendo, etc.
• Experience in recording, both in the studio and in the field
• Demonstrable experience with Unity and other game engines
• Experience shipping titles for mobile devices (ie. iOS and Android).
• Experience shipping at least one title using Wwise.
• Moderate exposure to scripting and logic-based workflows
• Experience with task tracking and version control software (JIRA, Perforce, etc.).
