Opportunity
The Vice President of Business Affairs will participate in business negotiations and will work on content acquisition deals, co-production deals and talent agreements primarily in the scripted television arena, but with some exposure to unscripted projects primarily in the genres of specials and live event television. This individual will work closely with the Legal Affairs division of Fox Networks Group, as well as with outside counsel.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this executive include:
• Negotiate a variety of production, distribution, acquisition and development deals and negotiate and finalize agreements, including all above-the line talent agreements, rights agreements and other contracts as necessary;
• Analyze contracts in response to business questions, and provide information as necessary;
• Provide ongoing legal advice on strategic and complex matters around production, clearance and other issues;
• Manage relationships with agents, lawyers and studio executives throughout entertainment industry;
• Advise different business groups on a wide variety of legal matters.
• Work with Fox Networks Group Legal Affairs team as well as with outside counsel in handling production legal, litigation, copyright and trademark, rights and clearance matters.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned executive with a minimum of 10 years of cumulative legal experience, with a combination of prior entertainment, production, distribution experience as well as experience at a law firm and/or private law practice. A JD degree from a top-tier law school and admission to at least one US State bar (California strongly preferred) is required. We are searching for a dynamic and passionate professional with significant tenure in the entertainment industry. Experience at a cable or television network is highly desired.
Specifically, the individual should possess most of the following qualifications and characteristics:
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with a demonstrated track record of sound business and legal judgment;
• Established relationships within the entertainment and online business and legal communities;
• Results oriented, extremely proactive and a highly responsive individual with excellent communication skills;
• Extensive hands-on experience with complex contracts;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and highly proficient at time management;
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and to remain composed under pressure;
• Excellent written, presentation and verbal skills.
