Technical Producer - Outkick
OutKick is looking for a Technical Producer to be part of a growing slate of nationally syndicated radio shows and video podcasts, originating from Nashville. The Technical Producer will provide technical operational support for our studio, remote, and control room teams. Candidates must be experienced with running an audio console for live and recorded programming. This position will work alongside OutKick's Streaming Studio Engineer and Field Tech on the overall technical operation and staffing of studio and remote productions.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Technical Board Operator/ Audio Mixer for OutKick studio programming
• Develop audio strategy for remote productions and remote guests
• Manage audio for live & taped broadcasts, including mic sources and IFBs
• Maintain studio audio equipment
• Troubleshoot operational, CPU, and automation issues in real-time
• Work closely with engineering, IT, and editorial staff in a fast-paced news environment
• Operate technical equipment, including ENCO automation systems, digital workstations, Comrex, Tieline, Telos ISDN Interfaces, intercom systems, recording devices, audio consoles, and adobe audition/ pro-tools.
• Operational POC for radio syndication partner
• Ensure show timing/break schedules/formats meet the syndicator and podcast requirements
• Remain current on emerging broadcast technologies and increase knowledge of existing systems
• Focus on improving the quality of our OutKick Podcasts products, including adjusting guests' sound, inserting music beds, soundbites, and other effects, adding markers for ad insertion, and posting the products to the consumer page
• Responsible for documentation, as well as providing cross-training of peers on all broadcast equipment
• Communicate with non-technical personnel to resolve equipment issues and implement upgrades when necessary
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• At least 5 years' experience producing live radio and podcast programming with excellent skills operating a board during live broadcasts
• Creative and ''out of the box'' thinking
• Avid news, sports & pop culture consumer with a keen sense of how the three intersect
• Ability to interact with high profile guests and talent
• Ability to make the right decisions during breaking news situations as well as during routine shifts
• Well versed in the latest radio technologies
• Proficient in audio editing software
• Knowledge of iNews, ENCO automation and Adobe Audition a plus
• Strong communication skills, excellent teamwork and team-building skills
• A good understanding of system design and ability to create and follow signal flow drawings
• Working knowledge of Windows, Mac, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Premier, ENCO
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel as necessary in a fast-paced, exciting live broadcast environment
