MarVista, a Fox Entertainment Company, is a leading global entertainment studio that produces, acquires, and distributes premium multi-platform film and television content worldwide. We have a very collaborative, talented accounting team and due to business growth, the company is looking to add an accomplished Staff Accountant. The person hired will be part of leading the company's AP compliance and close processes. This position is also responsible for performing analysis, and general ledger accounting functions, with an emphasis on Accounts Payable invoices and POs, Vendor Management/Onboarding assistance, and General Accounting.
A Snapshot Of Your Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day AP cycle in a fast-paced film production environment, including reviewing the accuracy of invoices, managing AP inbox communications, ensuring accurate invoice payment, resolving payment delays/issues, and providing Coupa support to other departments
Responsible for managing the overall AP month-end close process, including timely and accurate preparation of AP entries, maintaining supporting documents, and ensuring timely sub-ledger reconciliation with no variance
Manage the employee expense reporting process, ensuring accurate coding of expense accounts and adherence to the T&E policy
Perform weekly review of unsubmitted expense reports to ensure reports are being submitted timely in accordance with the T&E policy
Act as administrator for corporate credit card program, responsible for ordering/canceling employee cards as needed
Demonstrate and apply sufficient accounting knowledge needed to determine and assess the financial impacts of AP invoices eg: expense, prepaid, capitalized asset
Drive continuous improvement efforts by implementing process improvements, technology-driven solutions, and automation
Manage monthly 1099 tracking and reporting
Assist in year-end audits, including audit support schedules and related requests
Assist with residuals and Participation reporting
Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
2 years of experience in a related field
Drive continuous improvement efforts by implementing process improvements, technology-driven solutions, and automation
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, use of Chart of Accounts, and month-end close process
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet month-end deadlines.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially in Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc…)
