Fox News Digital is looking for a Senior Editor to join the team to cover the full range of breaking news. You will have the opportunity to head a small team of reporters and editors to create compelling content and report major events as they happen. We're looking for a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to bring stories to life to one of the world's most-read news websites.
The position can be remote at least to begin with. You will be offered one of the following shifts: Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat: 6 am-2 pm, 2 pm-10 pm or 10 pm-6am ?EST
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead a team of general assignment and politics reporters
• Coordinate with the Home Page team to deliver a compelling presentation of major events/news as they happen
• Collaborate with Fox News Channel personnel, web video producers, Opinion editors, and the Photo Desk to bring life and urgency to FoxNews.com
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• At least five years of proven experience in a daily breaking news environment, preferably for a news outlet covering a wide range of local, national, international & Political stories
• Experience using content management systems and social media tools
• Familiarity with AP style, strong knowledge of current events and politics
• Ability to be flexible with your schedule/hours and will include working on some holidays
• Possess an ''on-call'' mentality and be prepared to work under emergency or breaking news conditions
• Adept at managing a large team and keeping editors and reporters engaged and productive on tight deadlines
• Proven organizational ability to ensure editorial standards are upheld, demands from across company platforms are addressed, and a smooth handover is made to next shift
