The Receptionist will play an integral role in the daily operation of Big Ten Network by presenting a professional first impression to all visitors and callers to the Network. The Receptionist will be stationed in the main lobby of the Network and will answer all calls to the main phone line. This position will also be responsible for several clerical duties around the office, including but not limited to processing incoming and outgoing mail/packages, procuring office supplies, and general office administration duties.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that all visitors are registered with building security
• Welcome visitors to Big Ten Network in a courteous and professional manner and contact appropriate employees of guest arrivals
• Answer all calls to the main phone line and direct calls to appropriate employees as necessary
• Check the main voicemail box frequently and respond or forward messages
• Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages. Deliver all packages internally to the appropriate individuals
• Monitor office supply levels (copier paper, notepads, tape, staples, paper clips, etc.) and procure from vendor
• Monitor kitchen supply levels (coffee, water, plates, napkins, cups, utensils, etc.) and procure from vendor
• Assist in setup for meetings with outside entities (clients, vendors, Big Ten Conference, or school personnel). Ensure that meeting rooms are clean and stocked with water, notepads, etc.
• Assist with booking travel and expense reporting for executives
• Additional duties as necessary
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years of experience as a receptionist or administrative assistant
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), phone systems, copiers, and fax machines
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with visitors/customers in a professional manner
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• A pleasant demeanor and team player
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a broadcast, media, or sports setting

• Bachelor's Degree
