JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Legal Assistant, Enterprise Technology
The Corporate Legal department is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide support for a group of attorneys or legal staff in various corporate legal functions (e.g., enterprise technology, privacy, etc.). This position provides administrative support and assists with the preparation of legal documents and maintaining legal files, as more fully described below. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
• Answers calls, sends emails/faxes and assists in distribution of agreements/documentation to legal and business executives and other personnel on a regular basis.
• Schedules travel, meetings and conference calls, circulates meeting materials, manages expense reports, and arranges mail, messenger and UPS/ FedEx packages.
• Assists with drafting and redlining of legal documents (e.g., statements of work, renewals, agreements and amendments), prepares deal memos/summaries, drafts routine letters and other correspondence, may assist in preparing template legal documents and reviews and edits documents for accuracy.
• Delivers agreements for execution by parties, distributes executed agreements and updates contract binders (or digital equivalents).
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years prior legal administrative experience in a fast-paced environment required. Prior legal department assistant strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree or paralegal certification preferred but not required.
• The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, easily adaptable, and with excellent judgment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have excellent proficiency in typing. (Will be tested.)
• Must have experience with Workshare Compare (cumulative redlining) or equivalents. (Will be tested).
• Strong written and oral communication skills are a must, along with superior grammar, editing and proofing skills. (Will be tested).
• Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Service-mindedness, with a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is essential.
