JOB DESCRIPTION
Legal Assistant, Compliance
In this role, you will support the Group Chief Compliance Officer (''GCCO) for 21 Century Fox. 21CF Compliance develops and oversees policies designed to protect the company and its employees from legal and regulatory risk of all sorts, with a primary focus on preventing bribery, corruption, and financial fraud. Compliance also maintains comprehensive records and reports of compliance-related processes and transactions in order to document that these policies have been implemented and observed. In this role, the Legal Assistant will help to document and coordinate these activities for all FEG-related businesses, working closely with the GCCO, key contacts in the various business units, and others on the 21CF Compliance team.
Responsibilities:
• Basic office administrative duties.
• Responsible for collection and maintenance of regular transactional reports from production units
• Schedules meetings and conference calls.
• Books/confirms travel, manages expense reports.
• Assists with preparation of documents, drafts routine letters and other correspondence, and reviews and edits prepared documents for accuracy.
• Updates and maintains spreadsheets and training Power Points
• Researches background information on vendors and transactions
• Manages contracts and relationships with database providers and other compliance-specific vendors
• Maintains comprehensive database of compliance activities and records
• Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required and at least 3 years prior administrative experience in a fast-paced legal department.
• Service-mindedness, with a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is essential.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Previous experience managing a database.
• Must have a curious, and investigative ability to obtain information about individual tasks; must take ownership of projects from start to finish and show initiative in managing projects.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Outstanding and professional phone demeanor.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior grammar, spelling, editing and proofing skills.
• Service-mindedness, with a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is essential.
