JOB DESCRIPTION
21st Century Fox seeks an attorney to work on data protection matters focused primarily on our European Union businesses. This position will report to and assist the Vice President, Associate General Counsel, EU Data Protection, and will also collaborate with other members of the 21st Century Fox Privacy team and with the legal and business teams for 21st Century Fox and its affiliates, in connection with data protection matters, such as creating and updating templates, interacting with business and legal teams, and implementing and monitoring data protection programs.
Basic Qualifications:
• Law degree from a primary European university with maximum marks and final dissertation on data protection law or Internet law topics;
• Qualified as Lawyer;
• At least 3 years of experience in-house and/or in private practice, ideally with at least 1 year in-house focused on data protection matters with a primary Internet or media company and at least 1 year of private practice at a primary international law firm focused on data protection and security matters;
Additional Qualifications:
• Data Protection certifications (e.g., CIPP);
• Technology-oriented and conversant with Internet and digital technology;
• Strong background in privacy, data security and internet law and practice;
• Essential skills include exceptional English, attention to detail, good judgment, a team-oriented and collaborative attitude, solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects across multiple business units at one time;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate legal advice, solicit input and gather information verbally and in writing in a manner that is meaningful and helpful to business groups and legal teams across multiple functions;
• Ability to calibrate and advise on risk in connection with transactions and products;
• Excellent analytical and follow-through skills;
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple matters simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced environment, while seeking supervision and guidance when necessary;
• Organizational skills to effectively work with stakeholders in different geographic locations (including internationally) and across legal and business functions on long-term and short-term projects;
• Project management and compliance experience preferred;
• Experience with commercial transactions helpful
