The IT Support Specialist will assist FTS personnel with technical support of desktop computers and applications/related technologies, including the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability/repair of desktop/laptop computers, mobile devices and peripheral technology. The employee in this position also assists in the maintenance, deployment, and problem solving associated with servers and networking devices. Ensure systems interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems and Active Directory resources. Back up MC Hub's IT Manager and assist with maintaining HUB's servers and the ITX network. This includes technical support for servers, storage and workstations on the ITX domain. Recommend and perform hardware and software upgrades/patching on systems to ensure security, reliability, performance and longevity. Ensure system configurations and operations are in compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain hardware/software inventories for all IT managed technologies. Work support vendors to troubleshoot technical problems on PCs, servers and software. Assist with the creation and maintenance of technical documents used for planning and support of local servers and networks. Deploy new or upgraded technologies as defined in approved projects. Assist in information gathering associated with asset management and IT initiatives on an as-needed basis. Other related duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Qualified candidates should have: BS/BA in computer science or equivalent. Five or more years supporting Windows PCs, Servers, three or more years supporting a user based >75 people, two or more years basic IP networking. Familiarity with Technologies including OS-MS Windows, Server 2008/2012 and MS Windows 2007/2010; Hardware Platforms - HP Desktop and ProLiant Servers, Cisco Switches, ForeScout appliance, Palo Alto Firewall, Tablets and Smartphones; and Applications/Software including MS Office, McAfee EPO and Antivirus, Backup Exec, Ghost (or equivalent), and PGP disk encryption. Ability to resolve issues and isolate faults methodically, follow defined procedures and processes, deal with frequent change and unexpected events, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, exhibit sound and accurate judgment and logical reasoning, show initiative and learn quickly with little supervision. Effective verbal, written communication, time management and organizational skills are required. Candidate must consistently demonstrate a professional, positive and approachable attitude/demeanor. Must be able to multi-task with excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skill and able to work after hours for emergency support.
