Freelance Job
Fox Sports is currently seeking a Freelance Broadcast Editor to join our team. The Freelance Broadcast Editor will be located at our Charlotte based production facility on an as-needed basis. This role will be expected to create content for our Production groups creating television features, bumps, teases, SOTs, and other various elements for NASCAR related programming, as well as College Football, College Basketball, and other various racing series and sports. In addition, the Freelance Broadcast Editor may be assigned to provide content for our Promotions unit to create spots for a variety of sports.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Utilize color correction, waveform, vectorscope, and other tools used in measuring video and audio signals to ensure quality control of FOX's broadcast standards for delivery to air
• Create projects and media elements that will be stored on servers for use by other editors and producers
• Work hand-in-hand with producers who expect performance under pressure and to deliver professional, high-quality television content under tight deadlines
• Apply basic problem solving and troubleshooting techniques to work through technical issues
• Communicate effectively with our Engineering Department to work towards a resolution of any problems
• Work on projects for live events and TV programs that air the same day
• Follow strict FOX standards of operation and apply organizational skills to complete projects and sequences in a timely manner before effectively handing off your work to other editors and producers who will pick up where work is left off
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Experience in practical television production or related experience at the large market or network level
• Proficient in the use of television equipment and software using High Definition (HD) non-linear editing systems, media management applications, and a working knowledge of technical standards and requirements for broadcast on-air
• In-depth knowledge of different Video and Audio specs, formats, and codecs
• Knowledge of audio standards and requirements such as OMF and AAF creation and stereo and surround sound basics
• Excellent computer skills and a diversified computer background (Google, frame IO, BOX, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Must understand, adapt, and adhere to a complex digital workflow to get projects delivered under strict deadlines
• In-depth working knowledge of advanced non-linear editing and TV graphics software such as Adobe Premiere CC2021, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator as well as conversion software such as Adobe Media Encoder
• Ability to work independently and manage simultaneous projects and perform overlapping tasks that are mistake-free
• Organizational and planning skills are a must
• Possess solid communication skills
• Capability to work nights, weekends, and holidays and the flexibility to change their shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives

• Bachelor's degree
• A technical school degree in communications, television production, or related field
