Fox News is looking for a proactive and eager Associate Producer to join our Washington, D.C. team. In this role, the Associate Producer will assist with live shots, logging news events, identifying newsworthy sound and pictures, and newsgathering. This proactive, passionate, and self-motivated individual will work with show producers and reporters to advance the networks' coverage.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assisting reporters in gathering video, picking sound bites for use on-air, with live shots, and producing packages
• Working with D.C. and New York-based shows – gathering elements for guest segments, reporter hits, and panel segments as well as creating accurate and easily understood on-screen graphics
• Listening to and logging news events with a keen news judgment and alerting the network to newsworthy soundbites and video
• Working with reporters and other producers to set up and advance stories to air on the network
• Producing with teams in the field as needed
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
• 2 years of experience in a broadcast, print, or digital work environment
• Exceptional editorial judgment and intricate knowledge of Washington newsmakers
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis, especially in breaking news situations
Working conditions
Associate Producers may be assigned shifts on late nights and weekends. The primary work location is the Washington newsroom with the possibility of working onsite at news events.
Physical requirements
Ability to spend the majority of shift working on computers with various news and media production software. Occasional fieldwork could require working in an outside environment with periods of standing.
