FOX Sports Deportés is looking for a Freelance A1 Audio Mixer. As the A1 Audio Mixer, you will provide start-to-finish audio production services in order to coordinate, mix, and deliver high quality audio for multiple Broadcast platforms. You must understand complex newsroom caliber audio and intercom workflows, and be comfortable working in fast paced live production environments. You have good coordination and communication skills. You are a self-starter, who is detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work independently as well as within an established team. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, but all candidates will be considered.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Setup and operate complex audio workflows using resources throughout a studio which include:
• 5 production control rooms
• 4 stages
• 8 voiceover booths
• Numerous channels of wireless microphones and IFBs
• RTS, Clearcom, Riedel, Unity, and various other intercom platforms
• Dejero, Live U and other IP based transmission platforms requiring independent IFB mixes (this is critical)
• Numerous online meeting platforms like Zoom, Facetime, Skype, etc.
• Work closely with production teams to check proper operation of all audio channels, dialogue lip sync, and overall quality of signal for all production related sources and destinations
• Work with transmissions, media ops., and engineering to resolve any issues
• Monitor quality and consistency of audio deliverables, and report any discrepancies to supervisors
• Work closely with Technical Supervisor to coordinate audio mapping for IFB feeds
• Confirm with production teams that any special instructions have been communicated prior to broadcast
• Report any functional issues with equipment to supervisors that needs to be addressed by the engineering team
• Communicate any operational issues to supervisors for additional training or documentation
• Remain sensitive to constantly changing production needs and adjust accordingly
• Analyze and resolve problems proactively when possible
• Recommend appropriate methods to improve production, equipment, and overall quality of product
• Availability to work during odd hours, weekends, and overtime when needed
• Work with schedulers and production team to confirm studio needs and communicate availability
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years related experience with live sports, or news broadcast
• Professional experience with large scale production broadcast audio consoles (Facility uses SSL C10 series consoles and MORSE MADI router) and complex audio workflows following live TV show formats
• Knowledge of live sports and news environment, techniques, and procedures, both in studio and remotely
• Comfort working in a bilingual, ever-changing, fast-paced, newsroom-like, live sports broadcast facility
• Ability to steadily handle multiple tasks in a high pressure environment, and follow fast paced cues while mixing a live broadcast
• Enthusiasm towards learning new, complex, workflows quickly, and show an ability to adapt on the fly
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills, with a strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills and time management skills
• Ability to perform as a team player and maintain a professional manner when navigating various personality types
• Strong understanding of current industry technologies
