JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX Sports is searching for a Sports Talent Producer/Booker to join their team in Los Angeles. This Talent Producer will be a key member of the FOX Sports Talent Booking Department and as such, is a key part of the team responsible for booking all FS1 daily studio shows, NFL on FOX, Cross Platform, MLB open/teases and other shows as needed.
The incumbent will be working closely with the production team and talent and must have strong contacts with publicists, PR professionals, agents and managers. Additionally, they must also be proactive and keep track of celebs, musical artists, athletes, etc., who will be in LA doing the publicity circuit making sure they are offered time on FOX Sports programming if/as appropriate.
Talent Producers manage the guest bookings, which include obtaining approved sports and entertainment talent, defining and determining holes or needed bookings for the week, and strategizing with the Executive/Coordinating Producers on what bookings are desired to make the best shows possible. Additionally, the Talent Producers build and maintain relationships with guests and their contacts for the success of the shows/network, and work closely with the rest of the Talent Producers/Bookers at FOX Sports/FS1.
Responsibilities
• Plan, develop, and execute bookings for FS1 daily studio shows - coordinate all planning with Coordinating Producer and Show Producer of that show
• Work with FOX Sports Talent department on bookings for other shows as described above and maintain focus on synergy and cooperation among shows, departments and divisions as well as ensure proper communication so bookings do not conflict with each other and the best editorial decisions are made
• Ensure all guests, talent and producers receive an accurate booking agreement - Work with FOX Group Legal to coordinate appearance agreements
• Coordinate all related travel arrangements - establish a system for tracking and coordinating all agreements and logistics
• Create long-term plans to cultivate high profile and hard to get guests.
• Participate in weekend-booking conference calls for newsmaker guest/s and coordinate with CP approval
• Work with Production, Editorial and Research to establish lists of relevant news stories and potential guests - create pitch letters to send to PR directors, agents and managers
• May serve as an on-site Talent Relations presence for special events and programs - coordinate with Media Relations, where needed, to ensure that they are informed of guest and talent changes
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent with 6 years of experience in sports and/or sports and entertainment talent booking for a cable television or network entertainment division or related field
• Extensive contact list is a must
• Superior verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• The ability to multi-task and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high-pressure environment is essential
• An overall understanding of television production
• Excellent organizational, people and writing skills are required
• The ability to work successfully as part of a team is required
