JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is looking for a fastidious freelance producer to join our Washington, D.C. team. In this role you will assist with newsgathering, live shots and packages. This pro-active, passionate and self-motivated individual will work with show producers and reporters to break news and advance the networks' coverage.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assisting reporters in gathering video, picking sound bites for use on air, with live shots and producing packages
• Working with DC and NY based shows – gathering elements for interviews, reporters and panels segments as well as creating accurate and easily understood on screen graphics
• Listening to and logging news events with a keen news judgment and alerting the network to newsworthy soundbites and video
• Working with reporters and other producers to set up and advance stories to air on the network
• Producing with teams in the field as needed
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in a broadcast, print or digital work environment
• Exceptional editorial judgment and intricate knowledge of Washington newsmakers
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis, and especially in breaking news situations
• Ability to work late nights and weekends
