Morning Show Writer

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a motivated Writer to join the #1 National Cable Morning Show, Fox & Friends, and Fox & Friends First. As the Writer, you'll write compelling and conversational copy to pull viewers in on a wide variety of topics.

You will be offered the following shift:
Thursday-Monday, 1 AM ET - 9 AM ET

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Efficiently and accurately write and produce multiple compelling headlines at once
• Write scripts and banners
• Cut video and sound bites; produce graphics
• Consistently meet firm deadlines on multiple assignments
• Work with reporters on their hits while following guidance from the show's senior producer
• Flag producers about updates on your assignments, including breaking news developments and new visual elements
• Collaborate with the show's head writer, copy editor, and writing team
• Think outside the box to tell a story

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• At least one year of writing and/or television experience
• Exceptional scriptwriting skills, news judgment, and grammar
• Flexibility to work overnight hours
• Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy, and history
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
