JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dedicated Writer to join our Fox News Edge team. The News Edge Writer is responsible for creating news content for distribution to 172 national and international affiliates via the Edge Cloud service. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. You are comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Likely Schedule: Monday, Thursday & Friday 6:00am-3:00pm, Saturday-Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write and format original news scripts
• Manage and edit video assets
• Screen video for potentially litigious elements
• Create and ingest graphics
• Collaborate with digital and cable channel staff on stories available for the affiliates
• Pitch, research and execute stories
• Provide customer service
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Solid news judgement
• Excellent writing skills
• Knowledge and experience with digital content and analytics
• Ability to work with others under strict pressure to meet imposed deadlines
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in related field)
• Writing experience at legitimate news organization
• Strong knowledge of current events
• Willingness to work flexible hours, e.g. overnight, early AM, late night and weekends
• Local news affiliate experience
• Experience with Content Management Systems
• Customer service experience
