JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is looking for a motivated, self-starter with strong logistical, organizational and communication skills to join our Washington, D.C. team as the Supervisor of Special Events & Pools. As the Supervisor of Special Events & Pools, you are responsible for overseeing our pool coverage, including transmission pool assignments as well as our VIP pool coverage (Vice President, First Lady or Cabinet officials). You will collaborate with other managers and employees to enhance our pool and special events coverage. As the Supervisor of Special Events & Pools, you must be pro-active and able to present a strong coverage plan, looking for the most cost effective way to accomplish the network goals. In addition to working on various pool and special events projects, as the Supervisor you will also assist with newsroom assignments as needed, including breaking news.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the network's various transmission and VIP pool assignments, including coordinating staffing and coverage and guiding team members to reach network objectives
• Design and implement effective systems to train and develop personnel across the network to fill various pool assignments
• Serve as the pool producer on domestic and international transmission pools
• Coordinate high profile DC field interviews of WH Administration officials, including the President, Vice President, congressional leaders and world leaders as secured
• Organize and communicate overall unilateral plans for DC based special events
• Coordinate and communicate resources between network's various bureaus to meet management and coverage needs
• Create budgets and pool projects
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree and 7 years of broadcast news experience
• Experience with network pools
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, and an ability to coordinate short and long term projects concurrently
• Strong editorial judgment and strong logistical skills, with a sharp attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis, and especially in breaking news situations
• Demonstrated ability to direct others in the field
• Knowledge and ability to stay current on transmission technology, including LiveU, Links, Microwave and Satellite distribution.
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
