JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Reporter with strong editorial judgment to drive page views to our website. As a reporter, you will report and aggregate stories from a wide range of sources and cover breaking news. You will play a critical role in helping Foxnews.com continue to be a must-click destination for a rapidly growing audience. You are a skilled and fast writer with strong AP Style skills and demonstrate no difficulty working in a fast pace, deadline driven, news environment.
You may be assigned the following shift: Tuesdays thru Saturdays 6:00PM-2:00AM EST or 8:00PM-4:00AM EST
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cover breaking interviews of key newsmakers on various media outlets for FoxNews.com's media, entertainment and politics teams
• Conceptualize and execute quick rewrites, and conduct interviews in person, by phone or via email
• Report breaking news, write quickly and precisely
• Scour national and international media for stories that resonate with FoxNews.com's audience
• Aggregate stories with complete and proper attribution
• Present all stories (original, breaking and aggregated) in an accessible, consistent and compelling style
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred
• At least five years of experience covering the news
• A firm grasp of current events and a desire to be precise, quick and accurate in presenting the news to the vast FoxNews.com audience
• Knowledge of AP style
• Willingness to work closely with editors and fellow reporters, including frequent coloration on stories
• Flexibility to fill in on other shifts when demanded by breaking news or other editorial responsibilities
