JOB DESCRIPTION
The Overnight Breaking/Trending News Producer responds to developing stories in real-time, striving to be first on major breaking news across all FoxNews.com verticals. As the Overnight Breaking/Trending News Producer, you will work quickly under pressure and on deadline, and are comfortable multi-tasking during breaking news events. When you aren't tackling breaking news, you will seek out and write stories that are likely to go viral.
You will be assigned the following shift: Monday-Friday, 10:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m. Eastern Time
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Write and self-edit breaking news stories quickly and efficiently
• Pitch, write and self-edit trending news stories
• Send Fox News app and Apple News alerts as well as breaking newsletters
• Monitor Dataminr, wires, social media and internal emails for breaking news and updates to developing stories
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Ability to write quickly on deadline
• 2-3 years of newsroom experience, preferably in a digital breaking news environment
• Experience with metrics platforms like Chartbeat and Omniture
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a positive and collaborative attitude
• Excellent knowledge of SEO
• Prior CMS experience
