JOB DESCRIPTION
''The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino'' is looking for a motivated and experienced Coordinating Producer who is well-versed in politics, foreign affairs, and breaking news.
You will be the right-hand person to the Executive Producer and Line Producer, for all editorial and production needs. You will coordinate breaking news events in a live control room, produce packages involving newsmakers, field produce Dana's special events coverage on location, and be able to write scripts on any news topic. You should have exceptional news judgment and solid time management skills. Dana has a passion for politics and current events, and so should you.
You will need to work well under deadline pressure and have flexibility with your schedule as news and events warrant.
You will be assigned the following shift:
Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 4:00PM EST
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be a leader in the control room, especially during breaking news
• Coordinate and produce live shots and live shows from the field
• Coordinate newsmaker interviews and be able to turn packages and soundbites
• Provide solid news judgment and be able to dig deeper on a variety of stories
• Help plan daily and future editorial content for the show
• Understand production needs and be able to work with multiple departments to get a job done
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5 years of live news experience
• Experience field producing reporter live shots and/or live shows with anchors
• Control room experience, ideally as a segment and/or guest producer (line producing experience is a bonus)
• Exceptional editorial skills and a positive attitude
• Knowledge of current events coupled with a passion for news, particularly politics
• Ability to work under pressure, be decisive, detail-oriented and meet deadlines
• Bachelors' degree in Journalism or related field
• Ability to work a flexible schedule for news events
