JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Booker, you understand the importance of the ''first phone call''. You can reel in the big get before anyone else is even awake! You know what it takes to get the exclusive. You have the right attitude and understand the level of commitment required to get the job done.
You will be assigned the following shift: Wednesday - Sunday
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pitch unique and interesting stories that our viewers will relate to
• Conduct research and compile well rounded pre- interviews
• Manage daily deadline turnarounds of a live-show
• Strategize with colleagues on best booking approaches
• Handle logistics, guest greeting, travel arrangements and booking needs for guests and hosts
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A bachelor's degree and or relevant work experience is preferred
• An extensive rolodex and the ability to book everyone from high-profile guests, celebrities and people at the center of major news stories
• At least two years of booking experience
• 3 years of experience in television
• Strong editorial judgement
• A passion for current events
• Willing and able to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long-term bookings
• Given a topic, must be able to brainstorm relevant guests
• Researching using Lexis Nexus, Accurint, INEWS
• Finding people via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit
