JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Freelance A1 to join our New York Bureau. As a Freelance A1 you will be responsible for all the audio signal leaving the audio booth. You will work with a production team in order to ensure the best sound quality possible.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Mix multiple audio elements in a fast-paced, remote-oriented, live news environment
• Prepare show audio requirements and operate equipment to integrate audio sources and create a full program mix for air
• Work with technical and news staff to satisfy production needs for live, taped and automated programming
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Extensive experience in mixing multiple audio elements in a fast-paced, remote-oriented, live news environment
• Working knowledge of the Calrec Sigma BlueFin & Artemis audio consoles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work well with audio assists, technical associates, directors and producers
• Flexibility and willingness to work in order a 24-hour news organization
• Strong knowledge of audio patch bays, Hydra BSP, signal flow, Enco playout system, and the ability to troubleshoot during live production is mandatory
• Degree in audio engineering, or equivalent work experience in the related field is preferred
• Five (5) years of relevant professional experience required
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, overnights, and holidays is a must
