Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Fox Deportes Programming Department is responsible for long term strategic planning and short-medium term execution of a compelling and competitive sports content schedule. The Programming Department is responsible for providing updated monthly, weekly and daily schedules to internal and external clients. The Programming Department is also responsible for making sure our content abides by contractual, affiliate and supplier obligations and at the same time provide the basis of commercial inventory for via commercial formats and revenue projections. The Programming Department spearheads the plans for successful schedules and marketing campaigns around tent-pole events.
Current projects and tasks that will be assigned to the intern(s):
Programming:
• Learn the basis of scheduling a sports network via a FOX proprietary scheduling software.
• Learn the world of Spanish Sports content and its competitive landscape in the US and Latin America.
• Work in long-term planning of schedules for fiscal purposes.
• Assist Programming Department in updating programming fixtures.
• Monitor competitors for inappropriate use of FOX material.
• Research competitive landscape for scheduling opportunities.
Production:
• Assisting producers with the pre-production of live soccer matches.
• Logging live soccer games for non-linear editors.
• Timing out shows for correct broadcast specifications.
• Assist editors with gathering footage for teases and pre-games.
• Intern will gain hands-on experience and a solid understanding of television production.
Learning Objectives:
Acquire a well-rounded understanding of television production and how the production department collaborates with other areas of the company
• Undergraduate or graduate college student with a major related to the television field.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a must.
To participate in Fox's Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
• Housing is not provided, so please have a housing option guaranteed before applying.
