Full Time Job
The Communications/Media Relations Director will be responsible for highlighting the FOX Deportes brand and increasing the profile of the network in consumer and trade publications. The candidate will work closely with public relations teams of various partners (NFL, MLB, MLS, Bundesliga, Liga MX, NASCAR, etc.) as well as the FOX Sports Media Group internal PR department to maximize exposure and heighten FOX Deportes relevancy.
Responsibilities
• Leverage relationships with top Hispanic outlets, helping to raise awareness and promote tune-in for FOX Deportes while working with the director of marketing to develop PR strategies around programming and network initiatives.
• Develop and drive the network's communications strategy, identifying opportunities for all partner properties (NFL, UFC, MLB, NASCAR, etc.) to increase the visibility and profile of the brand to a rapidly growing Hispanic audience base.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson and liaison for the company in engaging partners, and media contacts, negotiating press coverage and placement for the company and its partner properties in both Hispanic and general markets.
• Manage and build fully integrated campaigns across broadcast, print, radio, and online to heighten awareness for the brand.
• Lead cross-departmental collaborations, and coordinate strategy and messaging across all internal teams.
• Directs all awards campaigns efforts for the network (Sports Emmy's, Cynopsis, Sports Business Journal, etc., and work closely with FOX Sports Awards teams to ensure campaigns. align with overall company goals.
Other Duties:
• Serves as a key contact for the FOX Sports talent relations department for all media days
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with athletes, celebrities and businesses across various industries to increase media impressions outside the traditional scope while helping to grow the overall brand
• Deliver placement of FOX Deportes talent in consumer facing media. Elevate the credibility and celebrity of talent and increase their off-channel exposure through relevant outlets.
• Produce consumer facing press releases that promote the FOX Deportes brand and offerings tied to linear programming, brand initiatives, etc.
• Produce trade focused releases highlighting network's ratings success, key programming acquisitions, etc.
• Work closely with FOX Sports Media Group (FSMG) to ensure FOX Deportes is highlighted in press efforts and messaging is consistent between companies
• Work closely with FOX Sports Mexico talent to increase their exposure and branding in the U.S.
• Work with PR teams from FOX Sports in Latin America to develop and execute pan regional, PR based initiatives.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree is required; with an MBA preferred.
• 6 years related experience.
• Bilingual – Spanish/English
• Previous Sports background/experience preferred
• Excellent verbal, written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, as well as good interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, leadership skills, and strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Explorer are needed.
• Basic knowledge of television vocabulary is a must.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships is necessary.
• The ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints is required.
• Travel 25-30%.
