JOB DESCRIPTION
Varney & Co. is the groundbreaking, flagship show at Fox Business Network, and the top-rated daytime business program in America. Stuart Varney leads a fast-paced, dynamic conversation about the financial and political news of the day for 3 hours every morning and is looking for a Booker to join his team. As the Booker you will book guests, produce segments, and develop and maintain lasting and productive relationships for the show.
You will be assigned the following shift: Monday- Friday 5:30AM-3:30PM EST -
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Book dynamic and high-profile guests for top-rated business program in daytime
• Bring new guests to the show
• Identify and pitch stories and guests appropriate for the show and each individual hour
• Prepare appropriate research for pitch meetings with producers and anchor
• Conduct pre-interviews with guests
• Respond quickly to breaking news during and after regular hours
• Plan for anticipated future news events
• Suggest segments for social media
• Cut video and sound, and make graphics as needed
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A Bachelor's degree
• 4 years of television news experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think fast and react to breaking news
• Creative thinking and a passion for news and current events
• Availability via email or phone during off-hours or weekends, as needed for breaking news or other changes to the show lineup
