Denver's KDVR Fox 31 and KWGN CW2 is looking for a high energy, motivated to learn, innovative and experienced Broadcast Engineer to manage a crew of highly intelligent Broadcast Engineers. This job could take you on the road to provide engineering support for large News remotes and to the transmit/receive sites around the state. Most of the time this position will work out of the downtown studios providing support for the station's News and Master Control systems.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include all key functions involved with applicable computer/network technologies and transmitter/RF engineering and maintenance. Furthermore, the candidate is responsible for FCC compliance issues, managing and training a strong engineering staff, oversight of day to day engineering support and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
Four year engineering/ IT related degree or equivalent seasoned experience (5-10 years) in the industry. Management experience a must. Candidate must have strong computer/network skills and strong RF knowledge and experience. If we tell you the News Control Room switcher is down, the Transmitter is off the air, the Master Control System is off line; How would you respond? Can you handle the pressure? Have you been in this situation before? If we used the term PLC, Raspberry Pie, PHP, LUN, ASI, Mux, Ethernet radio, CLI, IOT, and encoder would you know what we are talking about? Can you operate at Sat truck and a Microwave truck? Essentially, we are looking for someone with seasoned experience in the broadcast industry with strong technical skills. Must be able to lift and carry up to a maximum of 70 pounds and work at heights using ladders, step-stools or other necessary equipment. In this position, you must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl and reach above shoulder level. You must be able to operate a company vehicle.
