Looking for an opportunity to help guide a small company towards performance and success? We are looking for a professional with a sense of marketing, who is knowledgeable about web technologies and trends, with experience in brand creation, web design, and social media outreach, and with the ability to proactively research and stay updated on developments and trends related to the company's activities.
Flicker Alley LLC is a critically-acclaimed, specialty publisher and supplier of new digital editions of silent, rare, and film history works for broadcast and home video. As a small company that works in close partnership and collaboration with archives, broadcast networks and talented creative such as composers, graphic designers and film historians, our goal is to help preserve film history by making it more accessible to wider audiences. Through developing innovative ways to engage existing clients, partners, and suppliers, we hope to re-define our brand image and strengthen new ways of converting web traffic into sales.
Flicker Alley is seeking a pat-time, hourly Brand Manager to help grow brand awareness and engagement across many different platforms. The newest member of our team will execute marketing strategies specifically for social media, assist with day-to-day client relationships and project management, and oversee the development of ongoing advertising materials. The Brand Manager will work in close collaboration with office manager and founder to develop marketing strategies including newsletter and blog writing, advertising campaigns, email and social media marketing, and content development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Project management/creative development on projects including blog posts, daily social media engagement, email marketing, content development, etc.
• Research and reporting on appropriate market developments related to company activities, including business areas, such as physical goods media publishing, film rental and distribution, and digitally delivered media platforms.
• Create and implement specialized marketing initiatives such as contests, sales, screenings, blogathons, etc.
• Guide the company's market positioning through careful attention to detail in all company communications, including appropriate language usage.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate is creative, strategic, observant, analytical, an innate project manager, and perceptive about consumer online behavior. Must have a solid sense of business and marketing, a knowledge of web technologies and trends, online branding, web design and technical solutions.
• Experience with business and marketing, knowledgeable about the web technologies and trends, brand experience creation online, web design and technical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of social media tools and metrics, such as Facebook, Instagram, Wordpress, etc.
• 1+ years experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated and flexible.
• Able to work independently on projects.
• BA in film, marketing, communications, or any relevant field.
• A knowledge and appreciation of film history and/or silent and rare cinemas.
• Interest in and understanding of the rapidly evolving home video publishing and online video content delivery business.
• Advanced and varied writing skills; expansive vocabulary to discern and apply the correct word choice to company communications appropriate to any given situation (e.g. press release, social media posting, customer communication, as well as printed company materials).
• Intuitive sense of visual design.
• Understanding of marketing strategy and digital analytics.
• Familiarity with the principles of film archiving and preservation.
• A basic or working knowledge of the following programs/platforms: Quickbooks, Wordpress, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Skype, Google Drive apps, DropBox, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
