This is a remote position.
The Position:
Topic Studios (SPOTLIGHT, LEAVE NO TRACE, ROMAN J. ISRAEL ESQ) is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Intern to join our team. We're looking for exceptional candidates who are excited about what's happening in entertainment and are eager to be a part of the future of the industry. The ideal candidate will have experience providing written coverage of screenplays, books, and industry research. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to collaborate with a highly acclaimed studio team.
Responsibilities:
Provide written coverage of scripted screenplays, completed films, television pilots, treatments and one-sheets.
Occasional administrative assistance with tracking incoming submissions and current development.
Deep dive of Intercept and Field of Vision content to identify articles and IP for potential Topic Studios development.
Assist with festival/industry event prep and industry research.
Provide coverage of trades, box office trends/results, and reviews.
Track festival films, targeting acquisitions and filmmakers to watch.
Industry research, including competitive reports, availability checks and writer lists.
Other appropriately related projects/duties as assigned
Background & Qualifications:
Fast reader with strong analytical writing skills.
Strong knowledge of the entertainment industry.
Passion for scripted Film/TV development.
Highly organized, ability to multi-task, hungry.
Experience using Google Suite, Keynote a plus.
Ideally matriculating Junior or Senior with past internships in entertainment.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Previous coverage experience a plus.
