Job Overview:
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Art Director to join our team. In this role, you will be expected to lead the artistic process from concept to final polish while staying true to the existing art style. You will be responsible for developing and keeping our game style on point while creating smooth & open communication between our external development teams, in-house and outsourcing teams. This position is available to remote workers. We would prefer full-time candidates but are open to contract work for the right candidate.
In order to be considered, you MUST provide us with either a link to an online portfolio, website, or a pdf showcasing recent artwork upon application.
Responsibilities:
- Work with various cross-functional teams to concept and scope art for new features
- Lead the look/feel, development, and conceptual process for the game, including contributing to art production when necessary
- Take the lead to create art style guides and similar supporting documentation
- Create written and visual feedback (red lines, paint overs) to guide the art team on quality, maintaining consistency with the style guide
- Manage art team deliverables, ensuring they meet the defined objectives
- Organize and manage art asset list to ensure all deliverables are on time and accounted for
- Work with the marketing team to ensure accurate brand representation
- Work with Design and Business Development on developing the look and feel for new game pitches and key art used in selling game concepts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a game artist
- Experience with at least 2-5 published game titles or apps
- Expert knowledge in Photoshop
- 3+ years in artist or lead concept position
- Strong organization and asset tracking skills
- Ability to communicate ideas verbally and visually, providing feedback and discussing creative direction with a constructive and diplomatic approach
NICE TO HAVE
- Worked on a mobile game title from Pre-production to running the game live
- Worked on IP mobile game titles
- Unity Development experience
- Design or Illustration Experience
- A passion for casual mobile games
- 3D game asset creation
- Cinematic staging and lighting for digital art
- Previous experience working with dispersed teams and/or overseas teams
