Position Description:
The Celebrity Talent Booker/Producer is the point person for celebrity appearances on FBE series across multiple platforms. A standout candidate is an exceptional leader and self-starter able to reach out to existing and new connections in the industry to secure celebrity talent to appear in studio for custom creative, proactively pitch TV/Film Marketing/PR to position FBE as a must-stop for talent promotional tours, get FBE access to press junkets and on-location opportunities to shoot with talent, and provide leadership internally for strategic planning for celebrity talent bookings. The ideal candidate has a proven track-record of booking celebrities for both non-paid promotional opportunities through publicists and paid branded opportunities through agents/managers. They should have a firm knowledge of pop culture, internet trends, and understand how to connect with audiences across multiple platforms. They thrive in creative environments and have the mindset of a producer to creatively pitch FBE's ideas, capabilities, and opportunities for celebrities to talent reps and studios.
This position works closely with the Producing teams and Creative Director and reports to the VP of Production.
Primary Duties:
Give clear direction to producers in crafting custom creative to proactively pitch celebrities to appear on FBE
Act as liaison for talent reps for booking, scheduling, and contracts
Receive inbound pitches from networks, studios, labels, and reps for press days for FBE participation
Stay current on trending topics in celebrity pop culture and track editorial events and tentpoles (movie releases, tv premieres, concerts, etc) for the company to use as creative influence for booking talent
Consult on development and strategy for celebrity formats and series at FBE
Ensure a minimum of 1 celebrity booking per week for release on FBE distribution
Provide creative thought-starters and realistic sample talent lists within budget for celebrity-driven branded entertainment campaigns
Keep FBE celebrity video analytics up to date for pitch materials
Arrange for FBE creative leadership to meet with key industry people and companies to foster positive relationships for long-term talent strategy
Negotiate posting requirements and promotional asks to aid in performance, and handle timely flow of social assets and posting dates with reps.
Additional Duties:
Oversee and approve various celebrity production assets, including graphics, watching sequences, and social media copy as needed to meet celebrity talents contract obligations
Execute production schedules and agendas in conjunction with Production Management
Guide Producers on proper research techniques, provide insights on facts and flag information around celebrity issues within content
Understand strategic company priorities and how the teams support and fit into these goals
Attend network, department, team, and creative meetings; assist with setting agendas
Attend regular meetings with Supervising Producers to coordinate creative and prevent any overlap
Regularly develop and pitch new creative for celebrity formats, series, and specials
Attend industry shows and networking events to bring fresh ideas and new experience back to the company
Requirements:
Proven track record of celebrity talent booking in traditional and digital media is a must (5+ years)
Experience at a PR firm, talent agency, media company or series as a celebrity talent rep/booker is a plus
Must be team-oriented and demonstrate strong & motivating leadership skills
Vast network of contacts within the celebrity talent booking space
Strong knowledge of social platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, IGTV, Snapchat) and what variables can affect a video's performance
Strong awareness of YouTube & internet culture, memes, vernacular, and pop culture and how to pitch that audience to gatekeepers
Intuition for compelling and entertaining content, identify the ingredients that make a hit show and utilizing available resources with maximum efficiency
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring all deadlines are met appropriately
Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem solving skills
Proactive, independent, and maintains a tenacious work ethic
Strong administrative skills and familiarity with all G Suite Applications
Celebrity producing experience is a plus
