Position Description
The Assistant Editor (AE) works with the Graphics, Edit, and Production teams within FBE to help create engaging content and maintain a high level of quality throughout their work. They assist with the preparation, assembly, asset creation, final delivery and QC of all digital content at FBE. They additionally provide assistance with edits, graphics, promotional material, and media management as needed.
This is a Full-Time role and works Monday through Friday in our Burbank, CA offices and reports to the Sr. Editor.
Job Responsibilities:
Organize and assemble episode footage, label and sort stringout sequences
Create graphic assets such as title cards and lower thirds from stock files
Assists with ingesting and transcoding media to the shared storage servers
Coordinate, create, and QC final episode deliverables
Basic editing such as episode cutdowns, preparing highlights and compilations, etc.
Interact with editors and producers to fulfill needed asset preparation for filming or use within the episode
Review footage and pull video stills for marketing/promotional use
Overall assistance with Post department responsibilities and tasks
Suggest ways to improve post-production value and streamline processes
Job Requirements:
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Media Encoder, as well as a basic understanding of After Effects
Awareness of YouTube culture, and internet culture, memes, vernacular, etc.
Ability to generate and maintain spreadsheets to track data, assets and workflow for various projects
Knowledgeable in Apple OS and ability to troubleshoot common software and computer issues
Possess excellent organizational and communication skills
Takes feedback well and continually adapts to changing needs
Has the ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
Is personable, fun loving, and professional
Prior experience as a DIT or with graphic design is a huge plus
