FilmNation is looking for a part-time Human Resources consultant in New York.
HR Consultant will work 8 hours per week either from our New York office or remotely to provide various services to our team. We are a small business of about 40 employees between Los Angeles and New York and we are looking for an organized and approachable individual to manage HR processes and maintain employee confidentiality across our offices.
What you'll do:
• Recruit, screen, and interview new employees. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to a diverse applicant pool.
• Develop and implement streamlined onboarding process for all new hires
• Disseminate the company's human resource policies and procedures to new and existing employees
• Train employees on a variety of computer systems such as basecamp, highrise, tetra and slack.
• Monitor employee performance, assist in employee terminations, and implement biannual review process
• Counsel employees regarding any employment related issues
• Remain up to date with federal, New York and California labor laws to ensure the company is fully compliant
• Administer payroll process as well as health, dental and 401 benefits plans
• Manage workplace hotline which provides a safe and anonymous outlet for everyone employed in our office and on our film productions
• Create and implement initiatives for employee safety, health and general well being
Who you are:
• Someone with 5+ years of relevant HR experience and a Bachelor's degree (background in film/media workplace is preferred)
• A motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
• Familiar with the particular workplace environment of media/film
• Must be highly detail-oriented, analytical, and possess great communication skills
