FEARnet has an immediate opening for an experienced Director of Research. This is a highly important role at the business, and this person will provide a window into program performance and the behaviors of our entertainment fans, helping to drive ratings, marketing campaigns and realize new traffic and revenue opportunities.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining regular (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly) ratings/performance data gathering for linear, VOD, online, mobile, etc.
• Use ratings data to optimize schedule for premieres, stunts, marathons, specials etc.
• Measure the success of new and existing strategies to drive initiatives across platforms. Use findings to support programming, marketing, editorial, and sales/revenue areas of the business.
• Maintain and further develop content performance dashboards for online and verticals.
• Provide strategic performance one-sheets and wrap up business initiative reports for all originals, launches, tentpoles, events and stunts.
• In a key client service role, provide analysis and insight into the movie and genre landscape to help counter program and help acquisitions.
• Manage ad hoc projects, research proposals and assigned budgets.
• Study how consumers use FEARnt com and off-air content and navigate to, through, and away from the brand.
• Collaborate with sales research department to produce traffic estimates and accompanying rationale for sales, finance and planning.
• Work in partnership to profile and segment FEARnet’s cross-platform consumers, helping to turn lifestyle and digital insights into content strategies and business recommendations.
• Analyze digital marketing and advertising efforts including campaign tracking codes and impact of social communication beyond FEARnet’s branded space.
• Work with digital and sales teams to manage projects designed to measure effectiveness of online and other new media-related advertising campaigns.
• Provide leadership and direction to the management team.
The successful candidate will possess:
• 5+ years media research experience, specifically TV ratings and digital analytics
• Exposure to television metrics such as Nielsen ratings desirable.
• Fluency with syndicated reporting databases and software including Rentrak, ComScore Media Metrics, Brightcove, Omniture, Google Analytics required, as well as exposure to proprietary Internet tracking software and reporting systems
• Familiarity and enthusiasm for pop culture, movie and television entertainment required.
• Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills, proficiency in all MS Office products, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Experience in a television/cable environment preferred.
• Team player with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's Degree.
