Eurovision Americas is looking for an experienced television master control operator to work in its Washington, DC technical operations center.
Duties will include:
• Supervising live news and sports transmissions through the Eurovision Washington, DC technical operations center;
• Encoding, decoding, standards converting and routing signals to distribute top-level live sports around the world by satellite and fiber;
• Setting up satellite dishes to downlink news and live sports events;
• Operating remote-controlled TV news contribution studios.
The work involves extensive liaison with major local and international TV networks and sports leagues and as such, excellent customer service skills and an ability to troubleshoot with logic and patience are primary requirements of the job. Ability to work under pressure and attention to details are also key to succeed in this role.
The successful candidate will work on a 24/7 roster either as part of a team or unaccompanied at less busy times. Normally shifts are 8 or 12 hours in length, and an average of 40 hours per week is worked. Night work is compensated by additional time off.
