Job Summary:
We Are…
The Media Team at ESPN develops innovative communication strategies & media plans that drive brand awareness, fan engagement, and tune-in across all properties/platforms to impact the ESPN business & brand.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the Life:
The Media Strategy & Planning Intern will assist the team in strategy development, planning and ultimately execution of integrated media plans using off and on-channel resources across a variety of brand properties. The intern will also be responsible for the support of the department through admin work inclusive of coordinating meetings, booking conference rooms, and taking concise and thorough meetings notes. Our interns will work as a member of the team and get as involved as much as possible throughout their internship. As an intern, you will get full exposure to our business portfolio, and people.
Additionally, you will have an incredibly valuable opportunity to work on a project surrounding a topic of the Media team's choice from the beginning of the internship to the end and present the finished project to the whole team.
Basic Qualifications:
What You Bring to the Role:
• Fundamental understanding of the ESPN portfolio and/or an authentic interest in media strategy/planning
• Ability to capture thorough and concise meeting notes and distribute to the team in a timely fashion
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to learn quickly, thrive in a fast paced environment, endless curiosity, and positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience/course work in Integrated Media Planning
• Detail oriented self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Appreciation for industry trends, new technologies and unique storytelling
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Basic knowledge of media planning principles
Required Education
• Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship
Additional Information:
Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10 weeks and the approximate dates are June 9 – August 14, 2020. Interns will work 40 hours per week and need to provide full availability throughout the internship.
Housing: This internship is located in New York, NY. Participants on this internship must provide their own housing.
Transportation: Must provide own transportation to/from work.
