Job Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Business Strategy role applies ingenuity, creativity, and analytical skills in identifying, creating, and evaluating growth opportunities to advance the content distribution business of Disney and ESPN Media Networks (DEMN). The role is within the Affiliate Sales and Marketing department, which is responsible for domestic distribution and licensing for DEMN television networks, digital, and on-demand content. This Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in evaluating deal proposals and developing negotiation strategy for some of DEMN's largest and most strategic distribution partners and, and will also contribute to creating and evaluating mid-to-long term distribution strategies for DEMN.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with our sales and business development partner teams in support of traditional (cable, satellite, and telco) and emerging (technology, social) content distribution strategies
• Assist in and drive decisions for content distribution deals by creating sales proposals, term sheets, and financial analyses for new and on-going distribution negotiations
• Work with and across a cross-functional team of analysts, sales leaders, marketers, lawyers and technologists
• Develop network-focused analysis of distribution opportunities and areas of competitive advantage
• Conduct analysis of key business drivers for partners and competitors, as well as uncover and communicate emerging trends and new technologies
• Prepare senior executive presentations to drive core strategic decisions for DEMN
• Develop an in-depth understanding of content distribution and the competitive landscape for both Disney and ESPN assets and distribution partners / accounts
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in an analytical, financial, or business development role
• Understanding of the competitive landscape and current trends in the media industry
• Demonstrates strong written, verbal and quantitative / financial modeling skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel)
• Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to drive research and analysis forward autonomously and within groups
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Management Consulting or Investment Banking; or, media experience in a strategic or financial role at a large media or technology company
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree
