Job Summary:
The Manager of Current Series is tasked with multifaceted creative development for projects across the ESPN Original Content organization. The position is charged with a range of responsibilities within the current development landscape including heavy research and writing support alongside generating a reliable flow of actionable ideas for multiple platforms and shareholders.
This position may be based in New York OR LA.
Responsibilities:
• Idea generation ranging from big picture original concepts to targeted development for specific programming needs
• Produce in-depth research packets with extensive background on a wide range of material - pertaining to culture and history to stats and analytics - often on short turnaround
• Compose treatments and pitch documents of varying length, ranging from one-sheets to extended proposals with multiple story arcs and character outlines
• Maintain current development slate including creating summary and analysis documents to be disseminated to content shareholders across various divisions
• Consolidate and distribute feedback from stakeholders with the ability to communicate creative notes clearly and effectively
• Write deadline-driven treatments and scripts for major news events and initiatives
• Facilitation of the current development process including collaboration with external filmmakers and producers and internal business affairs and legal, at every stage from initial concept to final execution
• Write VO narration along with leads, tags, and summaries as needed for original content assets
• Collaborate on strategy for major initiatives and calendar structure

Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 years development experience
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in related field
