Programming Coordinator (Digital)
Job Summary:
The Programming Coordinator supports the ESPN Digital Programming team on the day-to-day scheduling of collegiate content on ESPN3 and ESPN ; contributes to the strategic planning of all event-based content within ESPN's digital platforms to maximize viewership and revenue; works collaboratively across all ESPN departments and with external rightsholders to fulfill contracts and achieve established company/team priorities and goals.
Responsibilities:
• Work with conference and school partners to schedule collegiate content on the event-based networks; maintain those schedules during the academic year and find efficiencies in the process.
• Handle all Content Scheduler work for assigned sport properties, including ratings, scheduling, etc.
• Quality Control of all programming metadata to ensure optimal content presentation (e.g. art, title, descriptions, category) across all owned and third party distribution platforms.
• Work with Product and Technology teams on product roadmap planning and Programming technology priorities.
• Work with Research on establishing digital measurement tools for forecasting, reporting and analytics designed to optimize Digital Programming strategy.
• Content acquisition and relationship management of select sport assignments.
• Serve as an integral member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall content and scheduling strategy for the company across all products and platforms.
• Proactively contribute innovative ideas to continue to grow our business.
Basic Qualifications:
• Two years of experience in a professional work setting.
• Strong overall sports knowledge.
• Proficient computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office suite and current social media platforms.
• General knowledge of the sports media industry.
• Detail oriented with strong communication skills. Highly organized and efficient person.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years of work experience in the sports media industry, television programming and/or professional or college sports.
• General familiarity with reading and comprehending legal contracts.
• General familiarity with media and footage rights.
• General familiarity with TV and digital audience measurement.
• Interest in the digital media landscape (e.g., social, GIFs, OTT, DTC, etc.).
• Knowledge of NCS or Content Scheduler systems a plus.
Required Education
• - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, business, sports management or a related field.
