Job Summary:
The East Coast Customer Marketing and Sales team is looking for a seasoned Director of Multimedia Sales who demonstrates strategic vision and the ability to lead. This Director must be proficient in selling across screens and possess the ability to help develop our team's strategic sales approach. We are in search of an individual that is driven to exceed goals, adapt and lead in the changing business landscape, collaborate with peers, has the ability to lead initiatives, develop and manage a team of Account Executives and junior sales professionals.
Responsibilities:
• Plans, directs and controls the advertising sales activities for an assigned geographical territory or territories
• Leads Account Executives and are held accountable for achieving defined sales targets in a geographical region / territory
• Participates in developing advertising sales strategies for advertising products, programs and services to meet or exceed established advertising sales goals and targets for an assigned geographical territory or territories
• Is accountable for the motivation, mentorship, morale and productivity of subordinate sales executives and overall west coast team
• Works in concert with the Vice President and director peer group to develop and implements sales strategies and tactical advertising sales tactics to benefit the Company
• Leads and participates in making sales calls to strategically important accounts and agencies
• Approves and adjusts area / territory advertising sales operating procedures; manages T&E
• Works collaboratively with various groups within CMS on business practices, new opportunities and data/creative based selling
• Approves and adjusts area / territory advertising sales operating procedures; manages T&E
• Partner cross functionally with internal departments: Marketing, Research, Sports Management and Revenue management
• Manage external agency partnerships and client relationships
Basic Qualifications:
• Has a minimum of 7 years of selling experience with at least 3 years in people management
• Is an experienced senior manager with history of promoting direct reports
Preferred Qualifications:
• Able to balance ESPN's needs and outcomes with personal financial outcomes
• Has a good understanding of the competitive landscape and of current competitive trends across all screens and platforms.
• Is recognized as a marketing subject matter leader with good competence in sales planning and selling
• Has a good understanding of the brand and the market positioning and sales strategies of an assigned territory or territories
• Is a visionary who thinks two steps ahead of where our business and industry is and apply strategies to position our team and ESPN to win in the short term, and in the longer term.
