Job Summary:
The ESPN Social team is looking for a Content Associate to produce and edit content from ideation to final product for all of ESPN's social and digital platforms, with a primary focus on Snapchat Discover. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, creative, and proficient in the Adobe edit suite or similar software. In addition, they'll have a deep knowledge of digital user patterns on major social media and a fluency in the way the internet speaks. Content opportunities for this job include everything from quick-turn, short form digital-content to longer-form feature storytelling.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Digital Media Producers to create, develop, and produce video elements and special projects using non-linear editing systems – Quantel, Final Cut and After Effects software
• Participate in strategy meetings to generate ideas and contribute creative concepts to achieve short and long term department and company goals
• Work with talent on scripting and producing elements for different social platforms.
• Produce daily content around top moments in sports for ESPN's various Snapchat shows, predominantly SportsCenter on Snap.
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years working in a media or social production environment creating and managing content.
• Strong proficiency in metrics-based decision making
• Understand and follow closely the the latest in social media trends.
• Strong base of current sports knowledge, including teams, players, and storylines.
• Some experience writing talent scripts and creating elements for social platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced non-linear editing skills (Quantel, Final Cut, Avid, Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
Required Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, online/multimedia or related field OR a high school diploma and a suitable combination of related training and experience.
