Digital Librarian

Scope of Responsibility:

The successful candidate will work with other areas of ESPN to design, develop, deploy and provide ongoing maintenance for the Libraries’ digital initiatives. The Digital librarian will oversee and participate in the creation and maintenance of Events and the triaging of media in our digital servers. The Digital Librarian will collaborate positively and effectively with department colleagues, with colleagues in other departments, and apply critical thinking skills for successful problem solving; maintains a focused, customer service orientation; and work independently as well as in a team environment. This is a hands-on position and the individual will do a variety of tasks, such as triaging events in various formats, metadata input, communication to various groups to build partnerships and provide service to ESPN, content coding and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

Supports the triaging of all HD and some SD Events in the Digital Center
Handles all upcoming events to support the Assignment Desk application
Generates metadata for events and assets with emphasis on original cataloging
Builds communications between various departments within ESPN
Creates standards for archiving and disseminating digital content
Editing content, flow, grammar, and layout of historical studies

Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills and abilities
Proven record of success working in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent experience
Some familiarity with computer operations helpful
2 years minimum experience, preferably in a media related environment
Knowledge of a variety of Sports: Working knowledge of the ESPN product
