Job Summary:
Works with Show Director in preparing, supporting and executing high level in-studio and on-site productions. Candidate must have comprehensive knowledge and mastery of the Associate Director role, including strong multi-tasking skills and leadership qualities.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director during a production by timing elements, keying fonts, and coordinating feeds. Maintain communication with live shots by providing alerts and cues, and ensure the proper framing, audio and video levels meet on-air standards. Assist in communication of traffic changes, graphics requests, music cues, and source changes with media.
• Assist the Director with pre-production elements including promotions, teases, graphics, special effects and font passes; coordinate video and fonts within the production.
• Work with the assigned lead Directors on special graphics elements and animation for specialty shows.
• Direct automated productions including radio programs and digital segments, plus pre-recorded segments on remote.
• Develop, mentor and coach less-experienced Associate Directors and Stage Managers. Provide feedback to support development.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of Associate Director experience in Studio Directing or network equivalent; Director equivalent in local television.
• A thorough understanding of television production is mandatory.
• Clear, concise and comprehensive verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to think quickly in a pressure situation is a necessity.
• Leadership skills are a must as the position includes facility and crew oversight, organization and show execution, plus problem solving.
• Hard working, detail oriented, creative; passionate about production and interested in technology.
