Job Summary:
The Segment Producer I will produce show-specific segments, including segments for social media. They are responsible for formatting segments in an accurate and entertaining fashion. They need to be highly flexible in their thought process and demonstrate creativity. The following position will be part of ''The ACC Network'' and will be based in Bristol, CT.
The ACC Network is a new multi-media platform collaboration between ESPN and the Atlantic Coast Conference launching August 2019. Showcasing 27 varsity sports, ACCN will super-serve ACC fans like never before. In addition to football and basketball, ACCN will feature live games and extensive regular season and tournament coverage of lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, softball, baseball and more. Original content and studio shows will provide fans inside access, analysis and storytelling all year long. The Atlantic Coast Conference was established in 1953 and consists of 15 member institutions: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Florida State, NC State, Syracuse, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame (excluding football), Pittsburgh, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee editorial direction of segment creation and integration.
• Lead segment production, assign video/graphic/virtual elements, write copy, and coordinate with control room staff.
• Produce high-end original content in conjunction with TV producers, editors, graphic designers.
• Serve as lead contact for television simulcast, including social media websites.
• Works with show producer to make segments flow smoothly within overall show content.
• Participates in decisions regarding the full scope of creative, content, production and some cost/benefit decisions for show.
• Coordinates and resolves content and production issues with technical and operations staff and outside resources selected by Coordinating Producers.
• Creates and enhances relationships with important information sources and third-parties.
• Capable of creating show rundown and communicating that information to on-air talent, production and technical staff.
• Provide direction and feedback to support staff.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of progressively complex related studio production experience.
• Has excellent production skills related to sporting events - Fluent in twitter, Facebook, YouTube and a wide variety of social media websites.
• Willing to travel and produce shows or segments from the field.
• Has an established knowledge of sports and sports history, especially sports in the ACC.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Solid writing and copy editing skills.
• Knowledge of televisions production and video editing in digital and analog environments.
• Detailed technical knowledge required, must have knowledge of what ''works'' on television and what is realistic to accomplish in time allotted for show production.
• Specific knowledge of television production technique used in a digital control room.
• Understands and adheres to journalistic standards.
• Working knowledge of ENPS and NCS systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and time sensitive deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Has considerable experience using interactive social and digital media to drive show content
