Founded by Byron Allen in 1993, Entertainment Studios is a fully integrated global media production and distribution company with 7 HD networks, dozens of first-run syndicated shows, over 5,000 hours of HD programming, a film distribution company and more to come. The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting with accounts payable and the month end close process. He/she will work on our media properties as well as our TV distribution division. This is an amazing opportunity to work on a dynamic team and build a career. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager. Primary Responsibilities: Essential functions include, but are not limited to: GL responsibility to be maintained in accordance with GAAP Assist with the month end close process, including preparation and booking of monthly journal entries. Process vendor invoices. Assist with the annual audit and preparation of PBC requests. Complete special projects as assigned. Skills: Familiarity with accounting software/systems Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to focus on detailed processes Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment Ability to self-manage, prioritize Strong communication skills Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Search) Needs to be very well organized Work experience requirements: 2-3 years of work experience, Big 4 accounting firm experience a plus. Must have the ability to self-manage and accept full responsibility for GL and accuracy of GL in accordance with GAAP Mid-level accounting software experience preferred (I.E. Quickbooks, Netsuite, PeopleSoft, Concur, WideOrbit etc.) Media/entertainment experience a plus Education: College Degree CPA preferred
