Position Summary
Supporting all operational areas, the Director of Operations and Production works with the project GM, Sales & Traffic teams, Programming staff, Marketing & Promotion group, content providers, website administrators, vendors, and network affiliates, to ensure the successful execution of production, distribution and playout of content, assuring that the overall presentations are of the highest standard.
Director of Operations and Productions is also responsible for management of the operational and production facilities, operational staff, vendors and equipment required to produce and distribute content. Ensures day-to-day implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that assure a well-managed, well-maintained operational environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure all operational facilities are functioning properly and ready for use
• Review mid- to long-term project schedules to ensure that necessary systems are operational and available
• Ensure that technical operations personnel, vendors and equipment are operating correctly
• Direct all technical operations including the resolution of technical and operating problems
Education, Experience, Certification Requirements
• 10 or more years of experience in relevant media or broadcast operations with 5 or more years of management experience.
• Degree in Communications or Broadcasting-related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Exhibits knowledge of all equipment used for TV operations including playout, distribution, production, music and video editing, visual graphics.
• Working knowledge of production/broadcast/streaming operational environments
• Must demonstrate strong technical knowledge of operational and production systems, with the ability to understand, troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Must have good time management skills
• Good organizational skills and attention to details
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and work well with other people in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent ability to make smart decisions and adapt to changes, especially under fast paced, stressful conditions
• Well-organized and manages time effectively
• Multi-task oriented with ability to effectively manage operational resources
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment as needed, with minimal advanced notice.
