Part Time Job
This position is responsible for handling sports content across the Entercom Baltimore cluster – with an emphasis on 105.7 the Fan.
The Web Content Specialist will strive to set the standard for sports news in a competitive market, and bring creativity and innovation to the role each day.
In addition to writing, editing and distributing strong sports content across our many platforms, this person will work to achieve a high-level of cross-promotion between Web and radio, and execute strategies and initiatives to grow our sports presence in Baltimore.
JOB DUTIES
• Take ownership of sports assignments, stories and pages
• Aggressively seek opportunities for content-sharing across the market, understanding the unique audiences of each and applying that knowledge to make sound content decisions online and on social.
• Collaborate and coordinate hourly with other Web Content Specialists to maximize homepage exposure, content-sharing and social media opportunities;
• Build a robust network of contacts in the industry to widen our reach and grow our online audience;
• Work closely with producers and on-air talent to better integrate radio and Web and to increase interaction and engagement among listeners and followers;
• Monitor shows and interviews, and efficiently turn on-air content into online packages, using audio, video and other multimedia;
• Help develop and execute game-plans for covering major sporting and station events to maximize Web traffic and engagement;
• Bring innovation and ways to leverage technology to improve and enhance story-telling techniques and methods.
Qualifications:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• 2 years writing/editing/content management experience;
• Understanding of social media and its relationship with consumers, online marketing and Web traffic;
• Thorough knowledge of current events and pop-culture;
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
• Attention to detail with content, including grammar, punctuation and layout;
• Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently;
• Knowledge of the local radio industry and familiarity with all radio terminology and methodology preferred.
